    أصدر الدكتور أحمد العوضي وزير الصحة القرار الوزاري رقم 237 لسنة 2026، الذي يضع إطاراً شاملاً يغطي استيراد وتصنيع وتوزيع وبيع واستخدام جميع أشكال التبغ والنيكوتين وأنظمة التوصيل المرتبطة بها. وتعتمد هذه القواعد على التشريعات الوطنية واتفاقية منظمة الصحة العالمية الإطارية لمكافحة التبغ، إذ تحظر المنتجات غير المسجلة وأكياس النيكوتين غير المعتمدة كأدوية وأي منتجات لا تتوافق مع المواصفات الفنية المحددة في القرار. كما تحظر المنتجات التي تسوق باستخدام شخصيات كرتونية أو تصاميم تشبه الألعاب أو تغليف يشبه الحلويات، بالإضافة إلى تلك التي تتضمن ادعاءات صحية غير مصرح بها أو تستخدم أوصافاً مضللة مثل «أقل ضرراً» أو «منخفض القطران». وطالبت الوزارة المصنعين والمستوردين بتقديم بيانات شاملة حول المكونات ومستويات النيكوتين والمواد المضافة وتفاصيل الإنتاج للحصول على الموافقة قبل مباشرة أي نشاط.

Media content depicting smoking, vaping or nicotine use, especially when accessible to young audiences, must be monitored with health warnings added where such scenes are deemed essential, the rules require.

    Electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products and similar devices that emit vapor or aerosol fall under the same public smoking bans already in place for conventional cigarettes, according to the resolution. This provision extends earlier smoke-free policies that originated with the 1995 Anti-Smoking Law and were reinforced through subsequent decrees, Tobacco Control Laws records show.
