Alghanim Industries to Expand Starlink Satellite Internet Access Via Sama X in Multiple Regions

Alghanim Industries announced on May 22, 2025, that it signed an agreement with SpaceX’s Starlink to become an official global channel for the satellite internet provider’s low-Earth orbit constellation through the launch of Sama X, a new authorized reseller venture, the company said in a statement. The partnership will focus on markets in the Middle East, North Africa, India, Turkey, Pakistan and additional regions, aiming to connect isolated communities including desert camps and open waters where traditional wifi connectivity remains limited.

International Telecommunication Union statistics indicate that only 48 percent of people in rural areas used the internet in 2024 compared with 83 percent in urban areas, illustrating the digital divide that satellite technology seeks to address in remote and deserted locations. According to the Alghanim statement, Starlink’s network of over 7,000 satellites provides fiber-like speeds with low latency to more than 5 million users in over 118 countries. The release noted that the company has launched more such satellites since 2020 than all other providers combined.

The statement outlined Starlink applications across healthcare for telemedicine, manufacturing for supply-chain diagnostics, telecommunications as backhaul, education for remote learning, and maritime operations for vessels. Sama X will provide customer onboarding, installation, activation and local support as the authorized reseller. Alghanim Industries said this combination leverages its regional expertise to deliver the service effectively.

In the statement, Kutayba Y. Alghanim, executive chairman of Alghanim Industries, said, «Our agreement with Starlink marks more than a milestone for connectivity—it’s a leap toward a borderless digital future where education, innovation, and opportunity know no limits. We are committed to providing internet from space to unlock opportunities on Earth.» The company operates more than 30 businesses in over 40 countries employing more than 15,000 people.

Mahmoud Samara, chief executive of Alghanim Industries, said in the announcement, «With Sama X, we’re not just connecting people—we’re enabling a digitally prosperous future. We’re building bridges to education, remote jobs, global markets, and innovation ecosystems. From remote learning and telemedicine to remote work and cloud-based businesses, we’re helping create a more connected, inclusive, and empowered world—starting now.»

Starlink services have received regulatory approvals in Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen, the company statement reported, with Saudi Arabia authorizing use in aviation and maritime sectors. The release characterized these steps as ushering in a new age of mobility and smart infrastructure. Initial rollout has begun through the company’s Xcite electronics chain in Kuwait, according to the announcement.
